Dear Member,
Your privacy is a
top priority
for WinForMe. Therefore, we want to be
certain that you understand exactly why we ask you for certain information, and
exactly how this information will be used.
WinForMe collects certain personally identifiable information from you, such
as your name, age, and email address, in order to automatically enter you into
Sweepstakes. We take every precaution to protect your information. When you
submit sensitive information to WinForMe, your information is protected both
online and off-line.
When our registration form asks you to enter sensitive information (such as y
our credit card number), that information is
encrypted and is protected
with one of the best encryption software solutions in the industry - SSL with
128-bit encryption. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock
icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft
Internet Explorer becomes closed, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users
are just 'surfing'.
Different Sweepstakes have different requirements when it comes to what
information is necessary to enter. We will pass on any required information
to the sponsors of Sweepstakes which we have selected for you to enter. We
try to pass on only the
minimum
amount of information required for
participation. Once information has been passed on to the Sweepstakes
sponsors, what they do with it is governed by their own Privacy Policies.
However, we do our best to screen the Sweepstakes sponsors to be sure they
respect your privacy as much as we do.
By principle,
WinForMe does not sell or share
your personally
identifiable information with third parties other than the Sweepstakes
sponsors, as outlined above. However, there are circumstances under which we
must share our customers' information. For instance, we use a credit card
processing company to bill you, but this company does not retain, share, store
or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. In the
event that WinForMe goes through a business transition, such as a merger,
being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users'
personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets
transferred. Finally, we may need to disclose personal information when
required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is
necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or
legal process served on our Web site.
Like most standard Web site servers, WinForMe uses log files. This includes
internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider
(ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of
clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the
aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP
addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
WinForMe will collect certain aggregate information, which cannot be
specifically linked to your personally identifiable information, to help us
analyze our site. This aggregate information might include the average age of
our customers, the breakdown between male and female users, and the portions
of our site which are the most frequently visited. This information may be
shared with our advertising partners or other partners, in order to serve
you better.
For tracking purposes only, WinForMe may use clear gifs, which will inform our
advertisers that a customer they sent to us has made a purchase. Any
information transmitted in this way will be used only to insure that the
advertiser receives their proper payment.
On certain occasions, WinForMe may communicate with you via email. This
includes the following types of communications:
- We will send you a receipt upon purchase, as well as your username and
password for access to our Member Log-in area.
- Newsletter: We will send you a periodic newsletter, which keeps you up to
date on what we are doing for you, what Sweepstakes we have selected, and so
on. You may opt-out from the periodic newsletter.
- Service announcements: On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a
strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is
temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email.
Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications; however, these
communications are not promotional in nature.
- Customer Service: In order to resolve any questions or other
communications you send us, we might reply to you via email, according
to your wishes.
WinForMe may, on very rare occasions, contact you by telephone. This will
only happen if there is a serious problem with your account, and after we
have first attempted to contact you via email.
Although WinForMe does not advocate the use of unsolicited marketing emails (
spam), many companies sponsor Sweepstakes in order to have the chance to inform
you about their products. WinForMe will opt you out of any optional mailing
lists, but some will be required for participation in Sweepstakes. Many of
these offers may be valuable to you.
Because you may receive a high level of marketing emails, WinForMe
strongly recommends
that you use a dedicated email account for participation in
Sweepstakes. If you do not already have a suitable account, you may get one
for free at various places on the Internet.
Here are links to some of them:
Please remember that most Sweepstakes will contact you via email if you have
won a prize, so be certain to check your Sweepstakes account frequently.
WinForMe may change this privacy pledge over time. Changes will be posted on
our website, www.winforme.com. In some cases, we may also contact you by
email to notify you that a change has taken place. If we make any changes
as to how your personally identifiable information is used or shared, we will
contact you via email, and you will have the option to decline to take part
in the new policy. If you have any further questions or concerns about our
privacy pledge, please contact us at
privacy@winforme.com.
Your WinForMe team.
